“My dream has come true”, was Tilak Verma’s emotional reaction after defeating Delhi

Captain Rohit Sharma and young batsman Tilak Verma contributed significantly to Mumbai’s victory. Speaking after this win, Tilak gave an emotional response to Rohit Sharma.

The Mumbai team entered this match to get their first win. Chasing 173 runs for victory, Rohit and Ishan Kishan gave Mumbai an opening of 71 runs. Tilak Verma was promoted to number three after Ishan’s dismissal. Tilak, who was in superb form, justified this belief. He supported Rohit and attacked the Delhi bowlers. He scored 41 runs off 29 balls with the help of 1 four and 4 sixes. He was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar. He shared a partnership of 68 runs with Rohit for the second wicket.

Speaking after the match, Tilak said,

“Truly my dream came true today. It was my childhood dream that one day I would bat with Rohit Sharma. I got that opportunity. So I am very happy.”

Tilak has been a member of the Mumbai Indian team since last year. However, he did not get a chance to bat with Rohit in the previous season. With Rohit coming in to bat and Tilak coming in to bat at number five and six, they could not bat together. However, as Tilak was promoted to number three in this match, the two batted together for the first time and contributed significantly to the team’s victory. He also scored an unbeaten 83 against RCB in the first match of the season.
