Naveen Ul Haq silenced those who were teasing Virat’s name; Said, ‘Gautam Gambhir is a legend…’

Lucknow Super Giants lost by 81 runs in the eliminator match against Mumbai Indians. Lucknow fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq has been in the news in this year’s IPL. On Wednesday (May 25) against Mumbai Indians, he also performed well and stole the show. Even with four wickets in the eliminator, Naveen could not lead his team to victory. During the live match, fans were even trying to call Naveen Virat Kohli’s name. After the match, Naveen reacted to this.

The 43rd match of Indian Premier League 2023 was played on 1 May between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In this match between the two teams, RCB won by 18 runs. However, Naveen Ul Haq was also discussed. Naveen had a direct argument with Indian legend Virat Kohli. During the live match and after the match, Virat and Naveen were seen clashing with each other. This time, former India legend and Lucknow franchise mentor Gautam Gambhir also clashed with Virat in support of Naveen.

Naveen was heavily trolled after this controversy in the field. It was time for him to close the comments on his social media posts because of Virat’s fans. However, Naveen was trying to woo Virat through social media. Lucknow Super Giants lost against Mumbai on Wednesday and the team’s journey in the current IPL season also ended. In this match, Naveen took the maximum four wickets for Lucknow. But while he was batting, the spectators present in the ground chanted Virat’s name.

Naveen Ul Haq said, “I enjoy these things. If anyone chants his (Virat’s) name or any other player’s name in the field, I feel fine. This motivates me to perform well for my team. That being said, I don’t pay attention to external things and sounds while playing. I am focused on my game. I don’t care if the audience chants or if someone says something.”

At this time, Naveen was also asked about Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir. Talking about his relationship with Gambhir, Naveen said, “De is a legendary player of the Indian team. A lot can be learned from him as a great cricketer. He has contributed a lot to Indian cricket. I respect him as a mentor, a coach, a legendary cricketer and have learned a lot from him.”

Naveen has scored 219 runs and taken 11 wickets in 8 matches in IPL this year. After defeating Lucknow, Mumbai Indians are set to play Qualifier Two (Friday, May 26) against Gujarat Titans. The team that won Qualifier Two played the final against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday (May 28). Qualifier two and the final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
