New Zealand’s central contract comes up, veterans out, fast bowlers back

The New Zealand Cricket Team has announced its central contract for the 2023-24 season. However, many legendary players were not included in this deal. Notably, Adam Milne has been given a central contract for the first time in five years. All players have now been given a deadline of June 12 to sign the contract or reject it.

Adam Milne’s recent performance in international cricket has been excellent. He played a total of 16 matches for the Kiwis, including 11 T20 Internationals and five ODIs. Apart from this, he has also played for New Zealand in the last two T20 World Cups. According to New Zealand head coach Gary Steed, Adam Milne deserves a central contract after his performances in the last few series.

Spinner Ejaz Patel’s name was omitted from the list
Management has retained Finn Allen, Mark Chapman and Blair Tickner. The trio replaced Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme and Marton Guptill. Surprisingly, left-arm spinner Ejaz Patel’s name is not on the contract list. Last year, he was part of the deal but could only play two Tests for the team. Perhaps this is the reason why it was not included in the contract list. This is predicted.
