While batting from Sri Lanka, opener Pathum Nissanka made the West Indies bowlers sweat. He meanwhile scored a century of 104 runs off 113 balls. While making these runs, he also hit 14 fours. He put on a 190-run partnership for the first wicket with Dimuth Karunaratne (83). Nisanka created a record by scoring a century in this match. He became the eighth Sri Lankan batsman to score centuries in two consecutive ODIs. Earlier, he scored an unbeaten 101 against Zimbabwe.

He scored 3 centuries in just 21 innings. Lahiru Thirimane is third in the list with 3 centuries in 47 innings.
