Not one or two, Dhoni showed courage in 10 matches of the season, fielded his special playing eleven against Gujarat.

The first qualifier match of the Indian Premier League 2023 season was played on Tuesday (May 23). The match was played between Gujarat Titans led by Hardik Pandya and Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni. Dhoni lost the toss and was forced to bat first at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. When CSK announced its playing eleven, a unique record was recorded in the name of captain MS Dhoni.

The start of CSK under the leadership of MS Dhoni was not expected in the current season of IPL. But under Dhoni’s guidance, the team improved its performance in the later matches and made a good comeback. CSK’s playing eleven also saw very little change throughout the season. In total 10 matches of the season, Dhoni’s team did not see a single change. This is the first time, that a captain in IPL has decided to play with the same playing eleven for 10 times in a season. Interestingly, captains of other teams have fielded the same playing eleven in maximum four matches.
