The league round of the Maharashtra Premier League organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association has come to an end. After this series round, three exhibition matches of women cricketers will be seen in the tournament. Three teams have been announced for these matches, Indian cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will also participate in this tournament.

Six teams have participated in the ongoing Men’s MPL tournament. Four teams will qualify for the play-offs. The three matches will be played during the one-day break between the play-off matches after the conclusion of the league round. These matches will be held on June 25, June 27 and June 28 respectively. All these three matches will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association’s MCA Stadium in Gahunje.

These teams are named as MCA Blue, MCA Red and MCA Yellow respectively. The blue team will be led by Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, the red team will be led by all-rounder Devika Vaidya and the yellow team will be led by batsman Tejal Hasbanis. Kiran Navgire, Anuja Patil who played in the Indian team will also be included. Apart from this, Indian cricket team batsman Rituraj Gaikwad’s wife Utkarsha will also be seen playing for the MCA Red team.

Maharashtra Cricket Association President Rohit Pawar has announced the organization of women’s MPL next year during the MPL auction. Four teams will participate in the first season of the tournament. Also, Maharashtra women players who played for the Indian team were felicitated in the MPL opening ceremony.
