Experienced batsman Ajinkya Rahane has returned to the Indian team after almost 1 year. He played his last Test match in January last year. He was then kicked out of the team. Rahane is currently storming the IPL 2023 for Chennai Super Kings. He has so far scored 209 runs at an average of 52.25 while batting in just 5 matches. Interestingly, key players were left out of the Indian squad for the WTC final. It includes players like Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar made his Test debut when Australia toured India recently. However, he could not perform particularly well. Also, Jasprit Bumrah has not been able to join the team due to injury.
