On the strength of Mohsin Khan, Lucknow dusted Mumbai with defeat, the play-off ticket is still far away

On Tuesday (May 16), Mumbai Indians lost by 5 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. Mumbai needed 11 runs in the last over in this match which was played at the Ikana Stadium in Lucknow. But Mohsin Khan did not let Mumbai win this match. Mumbai Indians had to accept defeat by 8 runs.

Mumbai Indians needed 30 runs off the last 12 balls. Cameron Greene and Tim David were on strike this time. On the second ball of the 19th over, Naveen Ul Haq bowled an off-cutter, which David hit for a massive six. David again took two runs off the third ball. However, David and Green could not achieve this goal. The fourth ball of the over was again no run. Green scored one on the fifth ball and David scored 2 runs on the last ball. Mumbai had a target of 178 runs to win this match. Captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan got the team off to a good start. Rohit and Ishan shared a partnership of 90 runs for the first wicket. Rohit scored 37 runs in 25 balls. While Ishan Kishan scored 59 runs in 39 balls. Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a century for Mumbai in the previous match, was dismissed for 7 runs in 9 balls in this match. Nehal Vadra scored 17 and Vishnu Vinod lost his wicket by scoring 2 runs. Tim David scored 32* off 19 balls and Cameron Green scored 4 runs off 6 balls.

Lucknow Super Giants batted first after losing the toss earlier. Lucknow scored 177 for 3 in the stipulated 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis scored the highest unbeaten knock of 89 runs. Stoinis played 47 balls and scored these runs with the help of 4 fours and 8 sixes. Along with this, Lucknow captain Krunal Pandya () contributed 49 runs in 42 balls. In Mumbai’s bowling department, Jason Behrendorff took two wickets by spending 30 runs in four overs. Piyush Chawla scored 26 runs in 3 overs and took 1 wicket.
