The first match of IPL 2023 was played on Saturday (May 20) between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. In this match Chennai captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first. Chennai captain MS Dhoni, who entered the field with the intention of winning, won the toss. However, during the coin toss, there was once again a funny interaction between commentator Danny Morrison and Dhoni.

Commentator Danny Morrison was responsible for the toss between Chennai and Delhi, who were playing the last match of the season. After Dhoni won the toss, the duo had their usual funny exchange. Dhoni warned that he won the toss and batted first. Danny then said,

Dhoni said without taking any time,

“We are trying to win from the first match.” Both laughed at that.

Dhoni added, “We are going with the same playing XI. It’s a good XI and we don’t need to make too many changes. It’s a day match, so as the pitch progresses, the game slows down.”

Chennai have a good chance to win this match and move to the second position. That would give them two matches to reach the finals. As Dhoni is probably playing his last season, all the players are eager to give him a winning gift. Dhoni has already hinted that he is retiring. However, no official announcement has been made in this regard.
