Australia dominated the opening day of the World Test Championship 2023 final on Day 1 thanks to a brilliant batting performance by Travis Head and Steve Smith. Then on the next day also on Thursday (June 08) he scored 469 runs losing all the wickets. Travis Head scored 163 and Steve Smith scored 121 for Australia. Also, for India, Mohammad Siraj took the most wickets with 4, while Mohammad Shami and Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets each.
After the end of Australia’s innings, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the innings from India. However, both these batsmen returned to the tent within just 30 runs. The team expected a big innings from Rohit Sharma, but he disappointed the fans and lost his wicket on the last ball of the sixth over to Aussie skipper Pat Cummins.
In fact, Rohit tried to hit the fast inbound ball, but the ball hit straight on the pads. Rohit stuck in the crease, giving the ball full chance to come in through the pace. Cummins appealed as the ball hit the pads and the umpire raised his finger. Rohit also believed in the decision of the umpires, so he did not ask for a review.
Rohit returned to the tent by scoring 15 runs in 26 balls with the help of 2 fours. Thus one captain showed the other captain the way to the tent. After Rohit, Shubman Gill also returned to the tent. Gill was shown the way to the tent by Scott Boland.
After the elimination of the Salmivir pair, Rohit and Gill are being heavily trolled on social media. Shubman Gill had a brilliant performance in IPL. So fans expected a lot from him. He scored 2 brilliant centuries in the IPL and also held the record of scoring 890 runs in a season. (aus skipper pat cummins strikes early and dismisses rohit sharma in 6th over)
