Joe Root became the 10th batsman to score most centuries in a Test career. He also left the legendary Australian batsman Don Bradman behind in this regard. Bradman has a record of 29 centuries in 80 innings in 52 Test matches. Root broke Bradman’s record as soon as he scored his 30th Test century. Root has now equaled West Indies legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Australia legend Matthew Hayden in this regard. He has scored 30 centuries in Tests. Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most hundreds in Tests. He had scored 51 centuries.

Root has become the second batsman to score the most Test centuries for England. As he reached 30 centuries, he moved closer to Alastair Cook at the top. Cook scored 33 centuries in his career. Root has scored more than 11,000 runs in Tests.

11th player to score most centuries in international cricket
Joe Root has reached the 11th position in the list of batsmen with most centuries in international career. He scored a total of 46 centuries in Test and ODI cricket. His target is now 10th-ranked South African legend AB de Villiers and 9th-ranked legend Rahul Dravid. De Villiers scored 47 centuries while Dravid scored 48 centuries in his international career.
