Although the Indian team has won two consecutive Test series against Australia, vice-captain KL Rahul’s form has become a concern for India. Rahul scored only 18 runs in both innings of the second Test match. Also, he was seen struggling in the Nagpur Test as well. After this, there is a demand to remove him from the team. However, Indian captain Rohit Sharma seems to be giving him more chances with his two innings.

KL Rahul has scored just 175 runs in 11 Test innings since the start of 2022. Meanwhile, his average has been 15.90. He led the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the two-Test series against Bangladesh. Despite playing a total of 47 matches, his Test average is just 33.44. Many people are seen saying that he should be removed from the team citing these numbers. However, captain Rohit Sharma mentioned his two innings and asked to give him more opportunities.

After the Delhi Test, Rohit said,

“Not just Rahul, any player can have a similar story. He has done brilliantly for us overseas. His century in the Lord’s Test as well as in the Centurion Test was brilliant.”

Rahul had scored a powerful century after being invited to bat first in the Lord’s Test on the England tour in 2021. This match was played by the Indian team. Then at the end of 2021, he also scored a century with the bat in the Centurion Test on the tour of South Africa. However, apart from that he has been a complete failure.
