The 8th match of the Super 6 round of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifiers was played between Netherlands vs Scotland. Netherlands team won by 4 wickets in this match played at Queenspark Sports Club on Thursday (July 06). Also, achieved the distinction of becoming the 10th team to enter the ODI World Cup. Scotland batsman McMullen scored 106 runs off 110 balls. He hit 11 fours and 3 sixes during this run. Along with this, Brandon McMullen became the second youngest player to score an ODI century for Scotland. He did this feat for the second time. He had previously scored 136 against Oman on 25 June.

A record for scoring a century at the youngest age
Matthew Machan holds the record for the youngest to score a century from Scotland. He set the record against Kenya in 2013 at the age of 22 years and 135 days. He scored 114 runs against Kenya. McMullen scored his century at the age of 23 years and 250 days. He then scored his second century at the age of 23 years and 261 days. McMullen’s century helped Scotland score 277 runs in 50 overs. Apart from him, Richie Berrington played an innings of 64 runs.

Interestingly, Netherlands needed to score 278 runs in 44 overs to qualify for ODI World Cup 2023. However, Netherlands overcame this challenge by scoring 278 runs in 42.5 overs. Also, confirmed their place in the World Cup. This time, Bas De Leede from the Netherlands did an all-round performance. He earlier bowled against Scotland and took 5 wickets for 52 runs in 10 overs.
