Pakistan veteran says, “India didn’t always play us to lose”

All eyes are on the match between hosts India and Pakistan in the ODI World Cup to be held in India in the month of October-November. It is said to be the biggest match of the year. Matches between the two teams have always been thorny. Fans of both the countries are always eager to see both the teams on the field. The two teams have not played a bilateral series against each other for almost ten years. Meanwhile, former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzak has made a different claim.

Razzaq is known for making many controversial statements consistently. Recently in an interview to a news channel, he said that the Indian team was constantly losing against Pakistan. he said,

“The Indian team has not played many matches against Pakistan since 1997-1998. Because, the Indian team is afraid of defeat. Pakistan team has always been superior to India in the past. Pakistan team was also strong at that time. Now the situation has changed and any team is capable of beating any team.”

In the same interview, he also expressed his hope that the series between India and Pakistan would resume once again. The last time the Indian team toured Pakistan was in 2006. After the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, the Indian team never visited Pakistan. Both the teams play only in ICC tournaments due to the deterioration of political relations between the two countries. Pakistan team last toured India in 2013. Since then Pakistan team has played only T20 World Cup in India.
