The Indian cricket team will go on a tour of West Indies in the month of July. The Indian team will play all three types of series in this tour. There are likely to be several significant changes in the Indian team for this tour. Accordingly, now Rituraj Gaikwad can get a chance as an opener in the Indian team. According to reliable sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Rituraj will be seen playing regularly for the Indian team throughout the tour.

Rituraj Gaikwad is likely to get a chance to replace Shubman Gill on the West Indies tour. Since Gill has been playing cricket consistently, he can be rested on this tour. Also, this year the Indian team is going to play the ODI World Cup. Gill will be the Indian team’s opener in this World Cup. He will be given rest to refresh himself.

Rituraj is not a regular member of the Indian team. After a good performance in the IPL, he got a chance in the Indian team. He has played 1 ODI and 9 T20 matches for India so far. However, in the recently concluded IPL and the ongoing Maharashtra Premier League i.e. MPL, his performance is seen to be strong. He scored 590 runs in 16 matches at an average of 42.14 while leading Chennai Super Kings to victory in the IPL. Also, while leading the Puneri Bappa team in the MPL, he has scored 143 runs in three matches.

Many players who have performed brilliantly in the IPL can get a chance in the Indian team on this tour. Along with Rituraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma may get a place in the T20 squad. Also, fast bowler Mukesh Kumar can make his Test debut.
