Virat Kohli scored two consecutive centuries in the Indian Premier League 2023 tournament. This made him 7 centuries in IPL. Thus he became the first player to score most centuries in IPL history. With this he targeted the critics. He said that people thought that he has failed as a T20 batsman, but this time he is playing his best cricket in the T20 format of cricket.
Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 101 off 61 balls against Gujarat Titans on Sunday (May 21). After the innings, he said, “I feel very good. Many people were thinking that my level of T20 cricket has gone down. However, I don’t think so. I believe I am playing my best cricket again in T20 cricket.”
Virat further said, “I am enjoying everything this time. That’s how I want to play T20 cricket. I hit the ball in the open, hit a lot of fours and if the conditions are favourable, even a six at the end of the innings.”
Interestingly, Virat batted well in this match, but Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 104 runs in 52 balls fell heavily on him. So RCB team is out of IPL.
Virat Kohli performed well in the IPL 2023 tournament. He scored 639 runs at an average of 53.25 and a strike rate of 139.82 in 14 matches for RCB. Virat scored two centuries in a row this season. He scored centuries against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. In addition he also scored 6 fifties in this season.
