Players in TNPL sold more than IPL price, proved themselves in just five matches
Indian cricket has changed a lot since the inception of Indian Premier League i.e. IPL. Several state cricket associations have also started their leagues on the lines of the IPL. Among these, the Tamil Nadu Premier League of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has been the most successful. Many players who came out of this tournament were seen playing in the IPL. The auction for the upcoming season of the same TNPL was held recently. In this, Sai Sudarshan, who represented Gujarat Titan, received the highest bid.
For the first time in the history of the tournament, the player auction was held on Thursday (February 23). All eight teams participated in the auction. Young batsman and left-armer B Sai Sudarshan, who played for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, fetched the highest bid. Laika Kowai Kings made him a good addition to their team for the highest price of Rs 21.60 lakhs.
Sai Sudarshan is part of Gujarat Titans team. Last year, Gujarat included him in their squad at the best price of 20 lakhs in the IPL auction. He scored 145 runs with a half-century in just five matches in the season. He has so far scored 497 runs at an average of 33 and a strike rate of 122 in 18 T20 matches. His performance in both Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has been strong.
He was followed by all-rounder Sanjay Yadav who was bid for Rs 17.60 lakh in this auction. He was bought by Chepauk Super Gillies. Ravichandran Ashwin part Dindigul Dragons took Shivam Singh with a bid of Rs 15.95.
