Plessis emotional after seeing support for Super Kings in America; Said, “This is our family…”

The first season of the Major League Cricket 2023 tournament in America began on Thursday (July 13). The first game of the season pitted the Texas Super Kings against the Los Angeles Knight Riders at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. In this match, the Super Kings team defeated the Knight Riders by 69 runs and started the season on a winning note. Speaking after this match, Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis gave an interesting reaction.

The first match of the season was very one sided. Faf du Plessis, the captain of the winning team, thanked his fans for attending the match. he said,

“Super Kings is one big family. When we wear this yellow jersey and the name Super Kings, we see a lot of support. It’s great to see our team getting so much support in America.”

Plessis had previously played for the Chennai Super Kings team for several years. However, he has been a part of RCB for two years. However, Johannesburg Super Kings, owned by Chennai Super Kings, plays in the SA T20 League in South Africa. Also now he has owned the Texas team in this tournament as well. Interestingly, both these teams are led by Plessis.

Talking about the first match of the tournament, Texas Super Kings scored 181 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs when they batted first. Chasing this challenge, the Knight Riders team could only score 112 runs in 14 overs losing all wickets. Super Kings’ David Miller, who scored an aggressive half-century, was the man of the match.
