The league round matches of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL 2023) organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association concluded on Saturday (June 24). After this series match, the equation for the play offs is clear. The play off matches will be held on the lines of IPL and the final match will be held on June 29. The Puneri Bappa team led by Rituraj Gaikwad, who is currently the biggest name in Maharashtra cricket, finished fourth in the league and made it to the eliminators. Therefore, it will be a big challenge for them to travel to the finals and win the title.

After the announcement of the MPL competition, many businessmen of Pune came together and made the highest bid for the Pune franchise. Puneri Bappa tried to build a strong team by buying the highest number of 27 players in the player auction. They got an icon player with international and IPL experience in the form of Rituraj Gaikwad. So, in the auction, they included the great players of Maharashtra cricket with experience like Yash Kshirsagar, Pawan Shah, Sachin Bhosle and Rohan Damle in the team.

In their first match of the tournament, the Pune team had a great win over Kolhapur Tuskers. After that he also defeated Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings. After a strong start, they suffered three consecutive defeats. Big wins in the first two matches kept their net run rate good and qualified them to enter the eliminators.

Puneri Bappa team will face Eagle Nashik Titans in the eliminator match. After winning this match they will have to play Qualifier 2 match again. They will have to play this match against the team that lost in the first qualifier. Only after winning this match can they enter the finals.
