“Rahane looks out for the best of the team even as a twelfth player” praises Ajinkya from former coach

Indian cricket team’s senior batsman Ajinkya Rahane is currently in tremendous form in IPL 2023. In both the matches he got a chance, he grabbed everyone’s attention by batting aggressively. Many people are praising him. At the same time, the former head coach of the Indian team Ravi Shastri also shared some experiences while appreciating Ajinkya.

Speaking after Ajinkya’s consistent performances in the IPL, Shastri told a cricket website,

“Ajinkya Rahane is truly a team man. I know him very well. You won’t find another player who looks out for the team like him. He instructs the others even though he is serving water as the twelfth player. He has always been ready to help anyone in the dressing room. He knows how to play the game of cricket and how honest he is about the game.”

Rahane has been roped in by Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023. After sitting on the bench for the first two matches, he was given a chance to make his debut against the Mumbai Indians. He seized the opportunity to score the fastest half-century in the tournament. Then in the match against Rajasthan Royals, he also scored a crucial knock of 31 runs.

Rahane is currently out of the Indian team. According to sources, if he continues to play in this form, he may be considered for the Indian team for the final of the World Test Championship to be held in June. In the absence of Shreyas Iyer, the number five spot in the team is vacant. So the experienced Rahane can get a chance at this number. The
