On Saturday (April 15) Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings faced each other in Lucknow. Playing at home ground, KL Rahul led Lucknow Super Giants had to accept defeat by two wickets against Punjab. However, Lucknow’s captain Rahul shone in the match. Rahul scored a half century as a batsman. But took an amazing catch as a fielder.

Punjab Kings were given a target of 160 runs to win this match. Punjab reached the target for the loss of 8 wickets in 19.3 overs and secured their third win of the season. Lucknow batted first in this match after losing the toss. KL Rahul, who came to open for Lucknow, scored 74 runs off 56 balls and took the team’s total to 159 runs. Chasing the target, Punjab had to fight till the last over to get the win.

England fast bowler Mark Wood was bowling in the 16th over of Punjab’s innings. On the fifth ball of the over, Jitesh Sharma, who was on strike, played a shot towards the covers. Meanwhile, considering the total of this match between the two teams, Kyle Meyers scored the highest 29 runs for Lucknow apart from Rahul. Regular captain Shikhar Dhawan could not lead the Punjab Kings in this match due to injury. In Dhawan’s absence, Sam Karan took charge of Punjab. Karan took 3 wickets while Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets for Punjab. After Punjab came into bat, openers Atharva Ted and Prabhasimran Singh lost wickets for nil and 4 runs. But the next three batsmen managed Punjab’s innings. Sikandar Raza (), who came in to bat at number five, top scored with 57 runs and played a vital role in Punjab’s victory.
