Rain spoiled Team India’s WTC equation! Pakistan has benefited, see the rankings

The second Test match between West Indies and India could not be decided due to rain. On the fifth day, the match remained a draw as no ball was played. As the match ended in a draw, the Indian team suffered a loss in the new cycle of the World Test Championship. Pakistan team benefited from this.

The Indian team had a good chance to celebrate their second straight win in the series. With only eight wickets required on the final day, play was abandoned due to rain. Therefore, both the teams were divided by four points each in the WTC points table. The Indian team got 12 points after winning the first match of the series. After that, now the Indian team is at the second position in the points table with sixteen points, four points. Despite being four points behind India i.e. 12 points, Pakistan team is on top only because of their win average. Pakistan have played only one match in the cycle and they have won that too so their winning average is 100%.

In this points table, Australia has maintained the third position with a winning average of 54.17 and 26 points in four matches. England has occupied the fourth position with 14 points after playing the same number of matches. Fifth placed West Indies have 4 points. Sri Lanka, who lost their first match, have no points. Apart from this, South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh have not yet played a single match in this cycle.
