Rashid Khan hit 10 sixes to beat Mumbai, but Surya’s century saw Mumbai win
Suryakumar Yadav led Mumbai Indians to victory on Friday (May 12) thanks to a brilliant display from the batting and bowling department. The match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Gujarat lost the match by 27 runs. Rashid Khan’s storming innings allowed Gujarat to complete 20 overs. Gujarat Titans were given a target of 219 runs to win from Mumbai.
Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma failed to win the toss. As a result, Mumbai batted first and scored 218 runs in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 103 off just 49 balls. This became his first century in IPL history. Suryakumar hit 11 fours and 6 sixes to score these runs. Apart from that, Ishan Kishan and Vishnu Vinod scored 31 and 30 respectively.
With Mumbai set a target of 219 runs for victory, Gujarat’s top order was bowled out for just 26 runs. Wriddhiman Saha, Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill lost wickets for 2, 4 and 6 respectively. David Miller, who came in at number five for Gujarat, scored 41, while all-rounder Rashid Khan top-scored with 79 off 32 balls. It included three fours and as many as 10 sixes. Earlier, Rashid also took the highest 4 wickets by spending 30 runs in four overs while bowling. However, Rashid’s solo battle against Mumbai’s team innings failed.
