After his performance, Ricky Ponting said,
“Prithvi has come to the opener for the last thirteen matches and has been a failure. Other teams’ openers like him seem to be playing much better.”
He added,
“There is no doubt that Prithvi is a quality player. That’s why he was retained in the team. Once he bowls the balls he needs, he single-handedly wins the match. The decision to sit him out was definitely not an easy one.”
Delhi Capitals had a very disappointing start to this IPL. Under David Warner, Delhi lost their first five matches. After that, they have managed to win two matches in a row.
