The player list for the upcoming Global T20 Canada 2023 league was announced on Wednesday (June 14). This list is filled with grandmothers and former veterans. It includes Andre Russell, Chris Gayle, Harbhajan Singh, Shahid Afridi and Shakib Al Hasan. The tournament will be played from July 20 to August 6 in Brampton, Ontario. In this, 25 matches will be organized in 18 days. These 25 matches will be played across 6 franchises.

The Winnipeg Hawks and Edmonton Royals were two franchises in the competition’s 2019 season, but are not included this season. They have been replaced by the franchises Surrey Jaguars and Mississauga Panthers. Each team consists of 16 players from full and ICC affiliate countries. It consists of 6 international players, including two marquee stars, 4 players from allied countries and 6 Canadian cricketers.

Shakib Al Hasan, Andre Russell and Chris Lynn will play for the Montreal Tigers. Harbhajan Singh will be seen in Brampton Wolves this season along with New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme. New Zealand stalwart Colin Munro will be joined by Shahid Afridi in the Toronto Nationals squad, while Chris Gayle and Shoaib Malik will also be in the Mississauga Panthers squad.
