Sad news: English cricketer’s toddler dies

A very sad news is coming from the world of cricket. English cricketer Matt Dunn’s little daughter Florence has passed away. She was only two years old. Florence’s parents shared a post on their social media account and shared the sad news of the girl’s death. Florence was suffering from epilepsy.

Through an Instagram post, Florence’s parents wrote, “Our daughter lost the battle and received beautiful wings. Finding words on this sad occasion is difficult. You loved us so much and the impact you left on so many is something to behold. You spread light in every room you entered. We will always be proud of you.”

Matt Dunn, who plays domestic cricket with the Surrey cricket team, has also shared a photo of Florence on his Instagram story. “You will always be in my heart,” he wrote in the caption. The Surrey team also joined in the player’s grief. Surrey’s team director said: “We were all very disappointed to hear the news of Florence’s passing. Our best wishes are with the entire Dunn family. We will provide Matt Dunn and Jessica with all the support they need.”

Meanwhile, when it comes to Matt Dunn’s cricketing career, he is yet to get a chance to make his debut for England. But she has played for England Under-19 and England Lions. Fast bowler Math made his first-class cricket debut in 2010. So far he has taken 117 wickets in 43 matches at an average of 36.21. In between he played 18 List A and 23 T20 matches in the last 11 years.
