SBA Cup Sub-Junior Badminton Tournament. Krishnanil, Sharav, Ishaan’s progress

Pune: Krishnanil Gore, Sharav Jadhav, Ishan Lagoo entered the third round of the SBA Cup Yonex-Sunrise State Sub-Junior Selection Trial Badminton Tournament after defeating their opponents.

The tournament has been organized on behalf of Sudhanshu Badminton Academy. The tournament started from Wednesday at the Modern Sports Complex in Shivajinagar. Sachin Srikant Wad of Maharashtra Badminton Association inaugurated the tournament. PDMBA Senior Vice President Anna Natu, Secretary Anand Joshi, Sudhanshu Medsikar, Subodh Medsikar, Crime Division Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh were present on this occasion.

In the second round of the under-15 boys’ singles, Krishnanil Gore defeated Thane’s Jinay Sakaria 15-2, 15-6. Krishnanil and Jinay got the lead in the first round. After this, Sharav Jadhav easily defeated Sata’s Arjun Samael 15-3, 15-5. Pune’s Ishan Lago defeated Solapur’s Raj Karveer 15-9, 15-0, while Ranveer Temghar defeated Ahmednagar’s Mayur Vada 15-6, 15-4.

Pune’s Atharva Goswami defeated Washim’s Kedar Rathod 15-4, 15-7 in the Under-17 boys singles of the tournament. After this, Pune’s Akshar Zope defeated Satya’s Aditya Khamkar 15-9, 13-15, 15-13.

Pune’s Jiya Uttekar defeated her hometown compatriot Purva Wadekar 15-10, 15-9 in the opening match of the Under-17 Girls’ Singles of the tournament. Pune’s Bhakti Patil defeated Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s Shravani Satonkar 11-15, 15-8, 15-9, while Arohi Amrule defeated Nagpur’s Dhun Sanghvi 15-9, 13-15, 15-10.
