“Seriously shouldn’t have gotten into an argument”, the veteran’s reaction to ‘that’ incident
IPL 2023It was played as Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Lucknow Supergiants. A big controversy was seen in this match. RCB captain Virat Kohli, Lucknow’s young fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq and Lucknow’s mentor Gautam Gambhir were at the center of this controversy. Critics are constantly commenting on this controversy. Former England captain Michael Vaughan has now given his reaction on this issue.
In this match held at the Ikana Stadium in Lucknow, RCB defended a low score and won brilliantly. But during the match there was an argument between Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq. The two also had an argument during the post-match handshake. After that, Lucknow’s mentor Gautam Gambhir also jumped into this controversy and had a row with Virat. As the matter escalated, both the players turned on each other. The whole affair caused a huge uproar in the IPL and all the players. The match referee took action against Gambhir and Virat to reduce the match fee by 100 percent. So, Naveen was fined 50 percent of the match fee.
Speaking on this matter, Vaughan said,
“There are small and big disputes between the players on the field. They should resolve that dispute. In such cases the coach or anyone from the coaching staff should not intervene. Your job is only to guide the players.”
After this incident, there was also an insta war between Virat and Naveen. Virat had written about the action taken against him and said that he was innocent.
