Shami and Bumrah will be shocked to read ‘MS Dhoni is the most dangerous bowler’, ex-teammate’s big statement
Former Indian team player Suresh Raina has made a big comment about former captain MS Dhoni. Raina called Dhoni the toughest bowler ever. After this statement, all the Indian bowlers who have bowled against Dhoni will surely be shocked. So, let’s find out about Raina’s statement…
Former batsman Suresh Raina has claimed that of all the bowlers he has faced in the nets, MS Dhoni was the toughest to play against. Raina and Dhoni played for the Indian team and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL for a long time. Hence, the two have a special relationship outside the cricket field as well.
Dhoni has only one ODI wicket to his name. Also, he has bowled 96 balls in Tests. However, he could not take a single wicket. In the Test, Dhoni almost took the wicket of Kevin Pietersen, but was adjudged not out by the third umpire. Even today, Pietersen has a funny argument with the Indian players on social media over this incident.
Raina revealed that Dhoni was the most dangerous bowler in the nets. Speaking to Geo Cinema, Raina was asked which bowler was the toughest for him to play against. To this he said, “Dhoni was the toughest to face in the Nets.”
Raina said that if you were ever dismissed by the CSK captain, he would taunt you for days and bowl from spin to medium pace. Raina also said that if Dhoni gets an opportunity to bowl in a Test match, he would take advantage of that opportunity. Also, he used to swing the ball well in England.
What did Raina say?
“I think Muralitharan and Maling were the toughest to face. However, that’s how MS Dhoni felt in the Nets. If he knocks you out in the nets, you won’t be able to sit with him for a month and a half. Because, he will keep hinting and reminding you how he dismissed you. He bowled off-spin, medium pace, leg spin and every type of bowling. He would also get his front foot no-ball right in the nets. He also took the opportunity to bowl in Tests.”
In fact, MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. Hours after his announcement, Raina also said goodbye to cricket. Interestingly, Raina has also retired from the IPL, while Dhoni still plays in the IPL. Dhoni had made it clear that he would play in the IPL 2024 season if Sharari supported him. (this cricketer said that ms dhoni is the toughest bowler)
