India and Australia are facing each other in the final match of the World Test Championship. While Australia scored 469 runs in the first innings, India managed to reach 296 runs in reply. India’s all-rounder Shardul Thakur made a significant contribution. On the strength of his half-century, he saved the Indian team’s innings. Along with this half-century, he created an unmatched record in international cricket.

The Indian team made a stunning comeback on the third day of the match. Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur scored half-centuries to keep the Indian team in the match. The two put on a partnership of 109 runs for the seventh wicket. Shardul scored 51 runs off 109 balls after initially struggling. With this half-century, he directly equaled legendary batsmen Don Bradman and Allan Border.

This is Shardul Thakur’s third consecutive fifty at the Oval in London. Shardul has become the third foreign batsman to score three Test half-centuries in a row at London’s Oval Stadium. The feat was previously held by Don Bradman and Alan Border.

Talking about the three-day play of this match, Australia scored 467 runs on the back of centuries by Steve Smith and Travis Head. While chasing these runs, Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur scored half-centuries for the Indian team. However, the Indian team fell behind Australia by 173 runs. Australia reached 123 for 4 in the second innings to take their lead to 296 at the end of the third day.
