Shikhar Dhawan returns to the Indian team after 9 months! Will get direct responsibility of captaincy

Indian cricket team’s veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan is currently out of the team. But soon Dhawan can be seen playing in an Indian jersey again. According to media reports, Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team may participate in the Asian Games. The tournament will be held from September 23 to October 8.

According to information, India’s B team will be seen playing in the Asian Games. The team participating in this tournament will not play in the ODI World Cup. The team will be led by Shikhar Dhawan. As the Asian Games will be played in the T20 format of cricket, young players from the Indian Premier League can get a chance in this team. It could include Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dub, Akash Madhwal, Umran Malik and Prithvi Shaw. Apart from this, experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane and Bhuvneshwar Kumar can also play in this tournament along with Dhanav.

Shikhar Dhawan has always been an important player of the team. He has led the team to victory many times. His performance as a captain has also been good. Last year too, when India’s premier team was on a tour of England, Dhawan led the team on the tour of Sri Lanka. Under his leadership, India has played 15 international matches so far and the team has won 8 of them. India lost 5 matches, while 2 matches were drawless.

In terms of overall career, the opener has played 167 ODIs, 34 Tests and 68 T20 Internationals. Dhawan has scored 6793 runs at an average of 44.11 in 167 ODIs.
