Shocked Anil Kumble’s big record! Ashwin created history while playing Tests at home

In the Nagpur Test match, the pitch was seen to be suitable for spin bowling. Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets for India in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin did the same in the second innings. Ashwin alone took five of the first six wickets India got in the second innings. As a result, the visiting Australian team was in trouble in India. Ravichandran Ashwin is a veteran spinner of the Indian team. He proved this once again on Saturday (February 11). The Indian team is in a strong position in the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Australia were bowled out for just 177 runs in the first innings of this test match being played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. In reply India scored 400 runs and took a lead of 223 runs. On the third day of the match, the second innings of the Test match started. In the second innings, the Australian team was seen to be in more trouble than in the first innings. Ashwin completed his second innings five-wicket haul after losing the wicket of Alex Carey.

Ashwin has so far played 52 Test matches for the Indian team at home. In these 52 Test matches, Ashwin has taken five wicket hauls 25 times. Ashwin is the leading Indian with most five-wicket hauls in domestic Test cricket. Like Ashwin, former legend Anil Kumble also has five-wicket hauls in 25 Tests at home. But Ashwin has achieved this feat in 52 Tests, while Kumble has played 63 Tests to reach this figure. Harbhajan Singh is third in the list. Harbhajan has taken five-wicket hauls 18 times in 55 Test matches played at home.

Harbhajan Singh at number three has done this feat 25 times. 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev is fourth in the list. Kapil has taken five wicket hauls 23 times.

Overall, India won the first Test against Australia on the third day. Australia were bowled out for just 91 runs in the second innings before Ashwin’s powerful spin bowling and they lost by 132 runs. After this victory, the Indian team is leading 1-0 in this Border Gavaskar Trophy of four Test matches. (Ashwin has 25 five-wicket haul from just 52 Tests in India)
