The first Test match between India vs Australia (INDvAUS) started in Nagpur on Thursday (February 9). Meanwhile, the Indian team took the first step towards winning the match by dominating the first day. Another shock has come while the Australian team has withdrawn from the match.
The Australian team was bowled out for just 177 runs on the first day of the match. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin wrapped up Australia’s innings with penetrating bowling. The Australian team gave a chance to young batsman Matt Renshaw in this match. However, he returned to Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling on the very first ball.
While the Australian team is in trouble, there seems to be some bad news for them. Because Renshaw is injured before the start of the match the next day. According to reports, the Australian team was warming up before the start of the second day’s play. Renshaw injured his knee at that time. So he was immediately admitted to the hospital. There was no word on the severity of his injuries. In his absence, Ashton Agar was fielded by the Australian team as a replacement fielder.
Renshaw has been replaced by all-rounder Cameron Green in the squad. Green is yet to recover from the injury sustained in the series against South Africa. Renshaw’s inclusion in the squad has led to criticism of the Australian team management by some former cricketers. Former Australia captain Steve Waugh expressed his displeasure over the dismissal of Travis Head, the fourth-ranked batsman in the world.
