Sisanda Magala replaces Jamieson in CSK squad, find out why to have faith in newcomer

South African fast bowler Sisanda Magala has been given a chance in the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. CSK on Sunday (March 19) announced the signing of Sisand Magala for the upcoming IPL season. New Zealand fast bowler Kaim Jamieson will not play in the upcoming IPL season due to injury. CSK then roped in Magala as Jamison’s replacement.

CSK had spent Rs 1 crore to buy New Zealand veteran bowler Kyle Jamieson. But due to injury, he had to withdraw from the upcoming IPL season. CSK needed a fast bowler like Jamison to fill his place in the team. Although Sisanda Magala has played less international cricket, he has vast experience in domestic cricket. It was for this reason that CSK brought him into the team as a replacement for Jamison. The franchisee paid Rs 50 lakh for it, which is its base price.

IPL informed CSK about this and said, “I have played only four T20Is for South Africa. But he has been taking wickets in T20 matches in domestic cricket for the past several years. He will be linked with CSK at his bear price of Rs 50 lakh.”

Meanwhile, Jamieson was included in the squad for the Test series against England in June last year. But during this series he injured his back. He had to undergo surgery after this injury. It could take another four months for Jamieson to fully recover. Magala, on the other hand, has been impressive for the Sunrisers Eastern Cap team in the recently played SA20 league. It was his first season in the SA20 League, in which Magala took 14 wickets in 12 matches. For now, it looks like Magala has secured a place in CSK on the strength of this performance in the SA20 league. All eyes will be on his performance in the upcoming season.
