Sreesanth is different! IPL support for one team and prayer for another team to win
Less than two weeks are left for the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2023, the world’s biggest professional T20 league. Before that, the atmosphere of the competition has started heating up, and many former cricketers are making predictions. Former India fast bowler S Sreesanth has also announced his favorite team and the team he supports for the upcoming season.
Sreesanth, who has been a prominent player in the IPL, fell out of mainstream cricket after the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. He recently gave an interview. In this he was asked about his favorite team. In reply to this he said,
“My support will be for the Rajasthan Royals team. The important reason for this is that the captain of the team, Sanju Samson, hails from my own state, Kerala. However, I wish that Royal Challengers Bangalore should win the tournament this time. Also Chennai Super Kings will not be the winner this year as well.”
Sreesanth played for Kings XI Punjab, Kochi Tuskers and Rajasthan Royals during his career. However, after the spot-fixing case came to light in 2013, he did not play any form of cricket for seven years. He had registered for the 2021 and 2022 IPL auctions. However, no team bid on him.
The IPL 2023 season will start from March 31 in Ahmedabad. The first match of the season will be played between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. This time also ten teams will participate in the tournament and the final match of the tournament will be played on May 28.
