On Tuesday (May 16) Lucknow Super Giants Vs. The 63rd match of IPL 2023 was played in Mumbai Indians team. In this match, Mumbai Indians suffered a disappointing defeat by 8 runs. Young fast bowler Mohsin Khan became the hero of Lucknow’s victory. He saved 11 runs in the last over to give the team a crucial victory. After his strong performance, team all-rounder Marcus Stoinis praised him.
Bowling against the aggressive batsmen of Tim David and Cameron Green, he conceded a run on the first ball of the last over and one run each off the second and third balls. Mumbai needed 9 runs off the last three balls. However, David and Green could not achieve this goal. The fourth ball of the over was again no run. Green scored one on the fifth ball and David scored two on the last ball. Thus he led the team to victory. Speaking after this victory, Lucknow all-rounder Stoinis praised Mohsin and said,
“He played brilliantly. When you come back to the team after a year out from injury and defend runs against two great batsmen, it’s certainly inspiring.”
Coming to this match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Lucknow scored 177 for 3 on the strength of Stoinis’ 89 runs. Mumbai had a target of 178 runs for victory. In reply, Mumbai raced to 172 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. As a result Lucknow team won by 5 runs.
