Stokes won’t play despite being fit! Former legend’s prediction ahead of Chennai-Rajasthan match

Chennai Super Kings are all set to play their fourth match of the IPL 2023 season. On Wednesday (April 12), CSK and Rajasthan Royals will face each other at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. But before that, the former Indian team legend gave a big reaction about CSK’s leading all-rounder Ben Stokes. Stokes did not play against Mumbai Indians due to injury. But according to the Indian legend, even if Stokes is fit for the match against Rajasthan, he may be left out of the playing XI.

MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings and Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals will face each other at the Chepauk Stadium on Wednesday at 7.30 pm. Both teams will field with their best 11 players. England Test captain Ben Stokes is considered one of the best all-rounders in the world. However, Akash Chopra feels that he can sit on the bench for the match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. It is also unlikely that Stokes will be fully fit before this match against Rajasthan.

Akash Chopra posted a video on his YouTube channel before the CSK vs Rajasthan match. In this, Akash Chopra gave his reaction about Stokes. He said, “I don’t think Stokes’ name will be among the four foreign players playing for CSK today. CSK were without Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes in the last match. Whether Ben Stokes is in the team or not, it won’t matter. I don’t think even if Stokes is available, he will get a chance to play. It’s a possibility.”

Meanwhile, Stokes has scored 15 runs for CSK in the first two matches of the season. He also spent 18 runs in one over bowled against Lucknow. As Akash Chopra said, the team management may have to think before selecting Stokes in the playing eleven. According to reports, Stokes did not play in the match against Mumbai due to a thumb injury.
