A week is left for the start of the next season of the Indian Premier League, the world’s biggest professional T20 league. Mumbai Indians, the most successful team in IPL history, has started its preparations for this new season and has organized a camp for all young cricketers in Mumbai. This first camp saw Kieron Pollard, who became part of the team’s support staff for the first time, coaching the players.
A former West Indies cricketer, Pollard played 13 seasons for Mumbai Indians. He is listed among the legendary players in IPL history. After retiring from international cricket, he is still seen playing in various leagues. However, at the same time he decided to play the role of batting coach for Mumbai after retiring from IPL.
Mumbai Indians recently posted pictures on their social media handle of him training the youngsters at the team’s first training camp.

Pollard was first seen playing for Mumbai Indians in 2010. In the very first season, he played the lion’s share in taking Mumbai Indians to the finals with his all-round play. He had announced his retirement from the IPL last year after the end of the IPL season. Pollard has scored 3412 runs in 189 matches in his IPL career and also has 69 wickets to his credit. He was a key figure in all five IPL titles won by Mumbai Indians.
The Mumbai Indians team has not been able to perform particularly well in the last two IPL seasons. In IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians unfortunately had to finish last. So this time Mumbai will try to improve its performance.
