Test series to be held in India-Pakistan? BCCI reacted to PCB’s proposal
There is a good tug-of-war between India and Pakistan in the cricket world cup and cricket series. A question mark has arisen about the participation of the Pakistan team in the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi has proposed that both teams play the Test series at a neutral venue. The proposal was reportedly rejected by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
According to reports by some Pakistani news agencies, the PCB is considering playing a Test series against the Indian team at a neutral venue. PCB President Najam Sethi has given a proposal in this regard to BCCI. However, according to the BCCI sources, the Indian team has not accepted any such proposal and currently there is no plan to play any kind of series against Pakistan.
Sethi had suggested places like England, Australia or South Africa for this Test series. They have thrown their weight behind England.
Currently, PCB and BCCI are facing each other. The PCB has expressed its desire that the Indian team should come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup scheduled in Pakistan. The PCB has threatened the ICC that the Pakistan team will not participate in the World Cup if the Indian team does not come to Pakistan. The Asia Cup will be played in the month of August while the World Cup will be played in October-November.
There has been no bilateral series between India and Pakistan since 2013. At that time Pakistan team came on tour to India. So, the last time the Indian team toured Pakistan was in 2005-2006. Since then the two teams have faced each other only in ICC competitions.
