The Indian Premier League 2023 starts from March 31. Former England captain Joe Root is all set to make his IPL debut. 32-year-old Joe Root is part of the Rajasthan Royals team. Last year in the IPL 2023 mini-auction, he was roped in by Rajasthan for Rs 1 crore. Root wanted to play in the IPL this year, but no one was bidding on him. However, Rajasthan believed in him and took him into the team. Now fans are excited to see Root play this season. Now he has made a statement about his IPL debut.
Joe Root’s strategy
Joe Root expressed his feelings in a statement issued by Rajasthan Royals before the start of IPL 2023. He said, “I will try to play as naturally as I can and try new things in front of the bowlers. I believe I will enjoy it. Also, will try to give my best performance.”

Root continued, “It seems like everyone wants to do things that are different from what they do on the field. All the players of Rajasthan Royals are happy that I have joined the team.” According to Root, “The IPL is an experience that you cannot have anywhere else in the world. I have never experienced this before. So this is all going to be new to me. It’s going to be very exciting for me as a seasoned player. I have heard many things in IPL. But now I’m going to live it.”
The path to root will not be easy
However, even though Root is commentating on his IPL debut, the road to the IPL will not be easy for him. He has been out of the England T20 team for almost 4 years. In addition, he does not have much experience in T20 matches. Root has played 32 international matches for England. On the other hand, talking about total T20 matches, he has played 88 matches. He is not even a part of England’s limited overs team at the moment. So it will be difficult for him to perform brilliantly in IPL.
