Trent Boult is an important player of the New Zealand cricket team and a dangerous fast bowler. He has so far played 78 Tests, 99 ODIs and 55 T20 Internationals for New Zealand. He can be a part of the New Zealand team for a long time in the future as well. But last year he asked the New Zealand Cricket Board to release him from the annual contract. The Cricket Board also accepted this demand of Boult. Bolt said he took the decision to spend time with his family and play leagues around the world. Meanwhile, Boult said that if the New Zealand team needs him, he will be available. Currently he plays in different T20 leagues around the world including IPL.

In a recent interview, he revealed the benefits of being released from the New Zealand team contract. He said, “I have always enjoyed every format of cricket. International cricket is definitely being played more. Leagues are also being organized along with it. This is natural in everyone’s life and it goes along with every phase of life. Cricketers also have lives off the field, such as marriage and children. But now the situation has changed. I have three small children, whom I could not see much before. But I can decide when to be with them.”

Meanwhile, Bolt is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals are first in the points table. Rajasthan have won three out of four matches in the season.
