Just 5 days are left for the start of the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the world’s biggest professional T20 league. All teams have started preparations for this new season. Meanwhile, the Lucknow Supergiants team, which is dreaming of winning the title in its second year, has suffered a big blow. Young fast bowler Mohsin Khan, who made his debut for the team last season, has been injured and is likely to miss the opening stages of this season.
Mohsin Khan grabbed everyone’s attention last year with his dangerous bowling. Mohsin, who plays domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh, has taken 14 wickets in 9 matches with his left-arm fast bowling. His game flourished in the second phase of last season. Interestingly, his economy rate was less than six. However, the chances of him playing from the start in the IPL this year have decreased.
Mohsin is currently in the camp with the Lucknow team. However, he does not bowl much there. He has injured his left shoulder and may need another month to recover from it. In such a situation, the Lucknow team made the experienced Jaydev Unadkat a part of the team in the IPL auction as an alternative to him.
A tall fast bowler, Mohsin has been playing domestic cricket for the past six years. Earlier he was also selected in the Mumbai Indians team. However, he did not get a chance to play there. The Lucknow team under the leadership of KL Rahul has shown the performance of reaching the playoffs in their first season last year. This time their goal will be to win the title.
