Now there are reports that the new brand logo will be seen on the jerseys of the Indian team. The leading sports goods manufacturer Adidas is now all set to become the kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team. Currently, the rights of India’s kit sponsor were held by Killer Jeans Company.

According to media reports, the contract with Adidas will start in June this year and will last until March 2028. Ever since Killer became a kit sponsor, it was sought after as a company with no cricketing background. The Indian governing body for cricket, the BCCI, was keen to set things straight, and is now set to replace the kit sponsor. News 18 has given this news.

BCCI’s previous kit sponsor, the Mobile Premier League (MPL), soon pulled out of the deal. Also, killer genes came into place. Before MPL, Nike had a 5-year contract with BCCI. Meanwhile, he had paid Rs 370 crore to BCCI from 2016 to 2020.

Adidas will increase the brand value
After BCCI and Nike’s contract ended, MPL and then Killer Company became sponsors. After MPL and Killer became sponsors, the question started to arise that these companies do not have a background in sports. As such, the arrival of Adidas will once again give the team’s kit a strong identity as a kit sponsor and increase brand value worldwide.

Earlier Adidas was the kit sponsor of Mumbai Indians and England cricket team. The current Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant are also brand ambassadors of the Adidas company. However, adidas will enter the national cricket team through the Indian cricket team. Currently, Adidas only sponsors Nottinghamshire, South East Stars and Surrey after their contract with England expired.
