Shahid Afridi led Asia Lions won the Legends League Cricket 2023. The final match of this league was played between Asia Lions and World Giants on Monday (March 20). Asia Lions defeated the Shane Watson-led World Giants by 7 wickets in this match.

In this match between the two teams, World Giants won the toss and decided to bat first. Bowling first, Ashila Lions restricted World Giants to 147 for 4. In reply, Asia Lions reached the target in 16.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. The contribution of Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga in this victory can be said to be the most important. The pair put on a 115-run partnership for the first wicket in both openers. Finally, veteran Brett Lee broke the partnership by clean bowling Tharanga in the 10th over. Then Dilshan too was clean bowled by Samir Patel in the 14th over. Dilshan contributed 58 runs, while Tharanga contributed 57 runs.

Earlier, it was seen that the top order batsmen for the World Giants team disappointed in this final match. Landon Simmons, Morne Wick, and Shane Watson lost wickets for 17, 0, and 0 respectively. The World Giants had lost three wickets when the team’s score was 19. But then legends Jacques Kallis and Ross Taylor saved the innings. Both shared a partnership of 92 runs for the fourth wicket. Taylor lost his wicket for 32 runs in the 17th over, while Kallis scored 78 runs. But in the end this solitary struggle of Kalis was a failure. The World Giants lost the match by 7 wickets.
