The secret to the success of the Australian women’s team is ‘support staff’! The players themselves disclosed ‘that’

The Women’s T20 World Cup concluded in South Africa on Sunday (February 26). Australia lifted the World Cup by beating hosts South Africa by 19 runs in the final in Cape Town. This is Australia’s third consecutive T20 World Cup and sixth overall. However, veteran Beth Mooney admitted that the support staff contributed as much to this World Cup win as the team.

In the final match in Cape Town, Australia scored 156 runs on the strength of Beth Mooney’s unbeaten half-century while batting first. While crossing these runs, Laura Walvert fought alone by scoring a half-century for South Africa. On the strength of the brilliant performance of the Australian bowlers, the team defeated South Africa by 19 runs and won the T20 World Cup for the sixth time.

Beth Mooney took the batting responsibility of the Australian team on her shoulders in this match and scored 74 runs off 53 balls with the help of 9 fours and a six. Speaking after the match, she said,

“We really enjoyed these days in South Africa. It was a different feeling to play here. A very excellent audience was enjoyed here. When we came to participate in the World Cup, it didn’t start very well. My own performance was not good either. However, the support staff showed faith. It is because of them that we have been able to achieve success.”

Australia has won six T20 World Cups so far. Australia has won six T20 World Cups namely 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2023, and Mooney was part of the team in four of them. Currently Australia team is the winner of all the three major tournaments namely ODI, T20 and Commonwealth.
