The wisdom taught to Virat by the Pakistan legend! He said, ‘You should leave this format’.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is always in the news for his statements. Akhtar has now made a statement about former Indian team captain and legend Virat Kohli, which is quite the talk. According to Akhtar, Virat should focus on only two formats of international cricket.
After last year’s ICC T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli has not played a single T20 international match for India. In between, he played ODIs and Test matches, but did not play a T20 match. He recently scored a stunning century in the Border Gavaskar Trophy a few days ago. In the last match of this Test series against Australia, Virante scored 186 runs.
Akhtar said in an interview on Sports Tak, “If you ask me as a cricketer, I think Virat Kohli should focus on the Test and ODI formats. A lot of his energy is going into T20 cricket. He loves T20 cricket, but sometimes you have to think about the body as well. He is currently 34 years old. He can play for at least 6 to 8 years. If he plays 3.-35 more Tests, he can score 25 more centuries in this format.”
Akhtar also spoke about Virat’s mental health. “It will be important to see how it works on our mental health. Luckily his personality is strong. He is a Punjabi. His frame of mind is amazing. He is focusing on his fitness.” Meanwhile, the Indian team is currently playing an ODI series against Australia. India won the first match of the series and lost the second match. The third and final ODI between the two teams will be played on Wednesday (March 22). Fans will pay special attention to Virat’s performance in this match.
