What did Mohsin say?
After the match, Mohsin said, “There was a time when I had given up on playing cricket. Because, my hand was not raised. When I tried hard to lift my arm, it would not straighten. It was a medically related illness. I shudder to remember that time. Because, the doctor had said that if I had delayed the surgery by even a month, my hand would have had to be amputated.”
The 24-year-old fast bowler further said, “I wish that no cricketer gets sick. It was a strange kind of sickness. My arteries were completely blocked. Blood clotted in it. The cricket team (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Team), Rajeev Shukla sir, my franchise (Lucknow Super Giants), my family supported me a lot during this tough time. I had a tough time before and after the surgery, but everyone supported me.”
Asked about the plan in the final overs, he said, “Definitely there is pressure. I was trying to do the same on the field, what we normally do during practice. I wasn’t thinking about defending 10 or 11 runs. I was thinking about hitting six good balls.”
