‘These’ five teams cannot afford yet another defeat, on the verge of an exit from the IPL

The performance of Delhi Capitals team in Indian Premier League 2023 has been very poor. Delhi lost by 27 runs against Chennai Super Kings on Thursday (May 11). It was his 12th game of the season. CSK is currently second in the points table after winning 12 pack of 7 matches. But on the other hand Delhi have won only 4 matches out of 11 pack. Apart from Delhi, there are five more teams who have yet to lose, yet could be ruled out of IPL 2023.

Delhi won all their next three matches. However, the team will still have 14 points. Looking at the performances of other teams, reaching the playoffs with 14 points seems almost impossible for Delhi. Along with this, the team’s net run rate is also 0.605. Apart from Delhi, there are five more teams, for whom the journey to the playoffs looks tough. It includes Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. We are going to look at the performance of these five teams in this article. Also we will get information about how many and against whom these teams will have to win matches in the coming time.

1. Rajasthan Royals –
Under the leadership of captain Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals had a strong start to the season. But Rajasthan have lost 5 of their last 6 matches, which has led to a drop in their position in the points table. Rajasthan have won five out of 11 matches in the season and have 10 points. Rajasthan have to play their next three matches of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings respectively.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders –
The start of the season was not expected for KKR. But under the leadership of Nitish Rana, the team is now in rhythm. KKR have won 5 out of 11 matches played so far and are 6th in the table with 10 points. KKR have three more matches to play in the group stage against Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants respectively. Even if KKR lose one of these three matches, their place in the playoffs could go.

3. Royal Challengers Bangalore –
Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli have been in good form in the current IPL season. RCB was defeated by Mumbai Indians in the last match. After this defeat, it is certain that RCB will have to fight for the playoffs. RCB has also played 11 matches so far and won 5 of them. The team is currently ranked seventh with 10 points. RCB have one match each against Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Giants in the upcoming period.

4. Punjab Kings –
Shikhar Dhawan became the captain of Punjab Kings this year. Punjab’s journey under Dhawan has been full of ups and downs so far. Barring the first two matches, Punjab have never been able to make it two wins in a row. Punjab Kings are eighth in the points table with 10 points after winning 5 out of 11 matches. Punjab still have three matches to play. In four of these matches they will face Delhi Capitals, while one match will be played against Rajasthan Royals.

5. Sunrisers Hyderabad –
Under the leadership of Aden Markram, Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a tough journey so far. Hyderabad have won 4 out of 10 matches in the season. Hyderabad still need to win four matches to get 16 points. Hyderabad have to play these four matches against Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.
