“They got scared when they got on the plane”, Jadeja mocks Aussies after resounding win

The first match of the 4-match Test series between India vs Australia was played at Nagpur. On the strength of an excellent team performance, the host Indian team ended the match on the third day itself. India won the match by an innings and 132 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series. The Indian cricketers performed tremendously in this entire match. Then all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who contributed the most in this victory, mocked the Australian team.

Before the start of this match, there was a lot of discussion about how the pitch would be. Australian players and media were seen saying that the ball will spin from the first day. However, the spinners did not see much help on the field in the actual match. Still, the Indian bowlers bowled out Australia’s first innings for just 177 runs. After that, the Indian team scored 400 runs while batting. The Australian team collapsed in the second innings as well. Australia were bowled out for just 91 runs and suffered a crushing defeat by an innings and 132 runs. Despite the lack of help on the pitch, India’s spinners together showed 16 batsmen the way to the tent.

Ravindra Jadeja, who was the man of the match in this match, mocked the Australian team while chatting on the broadcast channel after this match. he said,

“The spinners didn’t have enough support on the pitch. I think when the Australian team boarded the plane to come to India, they were scared of the ball rolling. It was the fear of the pitch that led to their defeat.” Akshar Patel, another all-rounder along with Jadeja, also taunted the Australian team saying, “The pitch was in our favor when we batted and against Australia when we bowled”.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan and former coach Ravi Shastri also gave a strong response to the Australian media on the same issue.
