This is called confidence! Rohit is thinking of WTC final instead of Border-Gavaskar trophy

The third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 will be played from Wednesday (March 1) between India vs Australia. Indian team will try to win this match and take a winning lead in the series. The match will be played at the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Indore. In the press conference held on the eve of the match, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma admitted that his focus is on the final match of the World Test Championship along with the series.

The Indian team celebrated a one-sided victory in the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. The Indian team won these matches in Nagpur and Delhi in three days. Therefore, the Indian team has a tough time in the Indore match as well. Captain Rohit Sharma said that if the Indian team wins this match, the last match of the series will be a warm-up for the final of the World Test Championship.

Rohit said,

“If the Indore Test result goes in our favour, we will prepare for the World Test Championship final in Ahmedabad. We want there to be a pitch that helps the fast bowlers. So players will get good practice. A discussion has also been held with the team management about this.”

The Indian team made similar preparations before the 2018 South Africa tour. At that time, India played the Test series against Sri Lanka on a pitch that helped the fast bowlers in Kolkata.

If they win the Indore Test, the Indian team will qualify for the World Test Championship final for the second time in a row. The final of the tournament will be played from June 6 at The Oval. New Zealand defeated the Indian team in the first final of the tournament and won the title.
